The Change Up
The premier of the movie The Change up Start Friday August 5.It's a must see comedy!The Change-Up is an upcoming comedy movie directed by David Dobkin based on a script by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore. The story is about a married guy who somehow switches bodies with his best friend in order to woo his female co-worker. The film is starring Ryan Reynolds, Jason Bateman, Leslie Mann, Olivia Wilde, and Alan Arkin.

The Atlanta Shakespeare Company begins a new project. They’ll be doing all of Shakespeare’s
comedies in the order in which they were written, and “The Two Gentlemen of Verona” is up
first. Previews Aug. 4 ($12) and Aug. 5 ($15). The show continues Aug. 6-Sept. 30 at the
New American Shakespeare Tavern.

Margaritaville at the A1A Jimmy Buffett Tribute Show with Jeff Pike. It begins at 8 p.m.
Aug. 5 at the Earl Smith Strand Theatre in Marietta.

Fishy tales are told in “Shipwrecked! An Entertainment: The Amazing Adventures of Louis de
Rougemont (As Told By Himself),” the latest production from Serenbe Playhouse in 
Chattahoochee Hills. The show continues through Aug. 27.

A Chorus Line
Take a look behind the scenes as Broadway hopefuls audition in “A Chorus Line.”
Lawrenceville’s Aurora Theatre does the memorable Pulitzer Prize-winning musical, which
runs through Sept. 4.

Music: Sing along with chart-topping country at the Gwinnett Arena in Duluth when Keith
Urban takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 4-5.

Twyla Tharp’s choreography meets Frank Sinatra’s music in “Come Fly Away.” The touring
production of this song-and-dance revue is at the Fox Theatre through Aug. 7.

ART Station’s “Married Alive” is a musical look at two married couples, one newly wed and
one “oldly” wed. It continues at the Stone Mountain theater through Aug. 7.

“The Ugly Duckling” gets an update and a lakeside setting — which incorporates the water — in this Serenbe Playhouse production. Through Aug. 28 in the Serenbe community in Chattahoochee Hills.

“VIP Room” is a semi-autobiographical play about one man’s struggle between domestic bliss and a love of strip clubs. It continues through Aug. 6 at Dad’s Garage Theatre in Atlanta.  Clandestine affairs, out-of-control egos, drunken frivolity… and that’s just what’s happening backstage in the showbiz farce “Noises Off.” The latest production from Georgia.
Shakespeare Company continues through Aug. 14 at Conant Performing Arts Center on the
campus of Atlanta’s Oglethorpe University.

“Three Sistahs” is a blues and pop musical set in 1969 about three sisters – an idealistic activist, a suburban housewife and a diligent professor – as they gather for the third year in a row for a funeral. The show  continues through Aug. 28 at the Horizon Theatre Company’s Little Five Points home. Check out our review.

A Taste of Y-E-A”
-pays tribute to TV star Kim Fields, who appears with the Youth Ensemble of Atlanta Aug. 6. Parade, festival: Marching bands, military units, floats and more take part in the Old Soldiers Day Parade, an annual tribute to war veterans. The Alpharetta City Band will perform before the parade begins. It all takes place in historic Downtown Alpharetta beginning at 9:15 a.m. Aug. 6.

Kids, family: See current and antique “Trains, Trucks & Tractors,” and enjoy hayrides, food and a craft corner. 10 a.m. Aug. 6 at the Southeastern Railway Museum in Duluth.Kids: Pirate and Princess Day offers family fun and lots of yo-ho-ho, and costumes are encouraged. The fun starts at 10 a.m.  Aug. 6 at the Fernbank Museum of Natural History.
